DUI Car insuranceBen Affleck :What are the normal speeding tickets that are given for over 50 km and what are the steps one can take. How would this affect auto insurance?
Response : I would deal with the insurance option first being an insurance expert. If you are caught speeding and do not have any demerit points, the personal auto underwriting companies will accept your proposal with a higher quote. If you get over 4 points , as per the personal lines, you will be grouped in the high risk category and you will have to pay higher insurance like the drunk drivings and other offences. You will have to go t the specialty insurance market who underwrite DUI or sr22 car insurance quotes, since they would give you a better quote than the drunk drivers. Believe me for them you are a low risk compared to the intoxicated driving offenders. You will naturally pay higher than the normal rates, however you can still get affordable cheap car insurance in this group for sr22 car insurance.
When you are speeding by over 50 km ove r the limit that is posted and you have to pay a fine as per what you are charged. There are 3 options for you:
1) Pleading Guilty
2) Pleading Guilty with an Explanation
3) Trial / Not Guilty
When you plead guilty you will be fined and mostly the demerit points will not be added to your record. The trail option is the only option if you do not want to pay and fight the charge or reduce the charges and the demerit points also. A plea of guilt with an explanation is not a trial and your speeding ticket will not be eliminated off of your record with this option. At most the speeding ticket may be slightly reduced, but this usually only includes the fine amount and not the demerit points. The trial option is the only way to fight for dismissal of a speeding ticket or for a drastic reduction in the fine or demerit points.
Demerit Points for Speeding Tickets
0 – 15 km/hr over = 0 points (minor infraction)
16 – 29km/hr over = 3 points (minor infraction)
30 – 49 km/hr over = 4 points (major infraction)
50+ km/hr over = 6 points + 30 day license suspension

DUI Car insuranceSean : Is it true that there are devices for preventing drunk driving? How would this relate to auto insurance ?
Resonse : Drunk driving and prevention of drunk driving is something which is very important for auto insurers. Approximately two of three respondents to an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) survey said they like the idea of using advanced technology, assuming the technology is reliable, to stop drunk drivers from operating their vehicles.
A total of 1,004 people were surveyed in July 2009 as part of the IIHS’s first take on what people think about equipping all vehicles with alcohol detection devices that would be more sophisticated than the ignition interlocks in some vehicles today.
More than 40% of the respondents said they would want such devices in their own cars if offered as an option. Drinkers and non-drinkers alike favoured the concept, the IIHS reported.
Among the 33% of respondents who volunteered that they never drink, approval of the devices in all cars is at 74%. It’s still high, at 66%, among people who said they drink once a week. Even among people who said they drink four or more times a week, support for the devices is about 50%, the report found.
In the United States, most drivers involved in fatal crashes who had illegal blood alcohol levels hadn’t had a DUI conviction in the past three years. “If interlocks had been in all vehicles — not just those of prior offenders — to prevent driving above the legal limit, more than 8,000 lives could have been saved last year,” the IIHS suggested.
A major impediment is the interlock device itself, though.
Interlocks mandated for DUI offenders are “unwieldy and obtrusive,” said Anne McCartt, IIHS senior vice president for research.
“An alcohol detector that’s suitable for all drivers would have to be all but invisible and require virtually no upkeep. It would have to be quick and easy to use and provide accurate readings. No such device exists yet, but it’s being worked on.” Once we have this device the DUI car insurance and the SR22 car insurance rates would be affordable.

DUI Car insuranceGreg : The drunk driving offences or impared are high and now even women offenders are increasing what is the goverment doing?
Response : DUI offenders are increasing and they have to take SR22 car insurance because of the high risk levels. Insuance companies, goverment and the charity organizations like MADD are also taking some measures to help the drunk drivers and to stop the accidents. Here are some of the steps taken:
1) Enforce the minimum drinking age in all states.
2) Require that convicted impaired drivers be subject to alcohol testing prior to reinstatement of their driver’s license (This would be effective in getting the chronic impaired driver off the roads.)
3) Enact administrative license revocation laws in all states allowing arresting police officers to automatically suspend a driver’s license if the driver is found to exceed the legal blood alcohol content (BAC) limit or if they refuse to take a breath test
4) Set up a graduated license system where a newly licensed driver is only given certain driving privileges. As the driver matures, these privileges would increase.
5) Suspend the license of underage drinkers found driving with any measurable level of alcohol in their blood. If a driver is under 21, any alcohol in the bloodstream is illegal.
6) Increase roadside sobriety checkpoints. These checkpoints would catch drivers in the act and be an effective deterrent.
This would certainly help in decreasing the accidents and also help in getting cheap sr22 insurance quotes since the number of accidents would decrease and also the repeated offenses would not be there. follow the regulations and compare sr22 car insurance quote.
