John Calton : Can you give me the ways in which I can reduce high auto insurance rates?

Reducing high auto insurance rates

Response : If you have a DUI conviction, or speeding tickets or have had repeated auto accidents you are certainly a high risk. This is not a matter of fun but is to be taken seriously. This obviously is sending the signals to your insurer that you have bigger chances of getting into trouble which results to filing claims. With repeated and continuous claims the insurers would not be able to make a lot of money so they formulate a way to keep you out of their company – very high rates. Is there still hope? Yes, most certainly. Fortunately, there is. There are several companies who specialize in offering high risk auto insurance for drivers and car owners who are considered high risk. Although the rates in this type of insurance are relatively higher than ordinary insurance, it is still the best type of coverage for risky drivers.
The question now is how you would reduce high risk auto insurance rates. Although you cannot expect your rates to drop instantly, it is possible to lower them:
1) Changing your driving habits – improve your motoring skills through graduated driving lessons, monitoring with GPS.
2) Drive old or four door cars which do not require comprehensive coverage.
3) Improve your credit score. It your credit score is good you will certainly save on high risk auto insurance rates.
4) Avoid drunk driving at all cost. drive old or four door cars, and by improving your credit score. If insurers notice that you pay your bills on time, they will reward you for the effort.
5) Shop online, compare quotes especially from speciality insurance companies.
If you are having a difficult time finding high risk auto insurance shop around the Internet. Because of the competition in the Internet, you may get surprisingly lower rates than what you have expected. Just be smart on your search and use quoting and comparison sites to fuel your hunt. DUISR22carinsurancequote is especially for high risk drivers and it has comparative auto insurance quotes for high risk drivers. Do not make the mistake of altering your profile just because you are high risk.
Getting high risk auto insurance is undeniably more difficult than the normal auto insurance. However, it can still be obtained by following some basic principles like shopping around and comparing rates. Other ways to keep your rates low is by maintaining a clean driving record, improving credit scores, and of course, asking for discounts.

Michelle Jackson : How many times can a person be held for drunk driving before his driving license is suspended and he is charged high for DUI insurance?

DUI insurance and drunk driving Response : A very good question. Bad driving habits like drunk driving are always going to be a costly affair and something to worry about. Normally, the driving license is cancelled if the accident is serious. However, recently this year, a 55-year-old St. Paul man remains jailed after his 18th arrest on drunken driving charges.

The Minnesota State Patrol said he crashed his car on Highway 61 and Interstate 494 in Newport around 6:30 p.m. last Thursday.

Capt. Matt Langer said the man’s blood alcohol concentration was about 0.16 percent, double the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

The man’s car was seized and he was taken to the Washington County Jail. He was denied bail and is due in court Monday, according to officials.

Langer said the driver has 17 previous DWI convictions. The last one was nine years ago.

How in the world did this man have a license? Driving is a privledge – not a right. This is crazy that he’d still have a license even if his last offense was 9 years ago. My math skills didn’t get me into MIT but it looks like he averaged 1.8 drunk driving charges for each of the years that he was of legal driving age(16-46) for his first 17 offenses. The average would actually be higher because I’m sure that he didn’t have a valid license for 30 concurrent years. Why isn’t there something in place that would prevent this man (and others with similar DD issues) from obtaining a license?

Personally, I feel that if you have drunk driving record, it would be best to have interlock inserted on the steering wheel so that any drunk driving is avoided at all cost. The DUI insurance is normally higher for drunk driving, however you can take up the driving lessons, rehabilation for drunk driving and also shop auto insurance quotes online and you can try here at duisr22carinsurancequote.com for good quotes. Give up all your bad driving habits.

A lot of insurance companies, the traffic authoriltes and the law enforcement forces have jointly taken measures to reduce DUI driving.
I am glad to let you know that as per the 2009 results drunken driving fatality rates have fallen in 40 states and the District of Columbia, an encouraging sign that crackdowns are improving highway safety.
The Transportation Department said that 11,773 people were killed in drunken driving crashes in 2008 for a rate of 0.4 per 100 million vehicle miles traveled. In 2007, 13,041 motorists were killed in alcohol-impaired crashes for a rate of 0.43.

Brad : Houston Texas : Its me again. Thanks for your information on SR22 car insurance. Please let me know why one should take a Defensive Driving Class when I do have SR22 car insurance?

Response : Defensive driving classes are good for those you are considered a high risk and for SR22 car insurance . If you need an SR22 form than it is obvious that either you are a have a very bad driving record or you have been held for a DUI conviction.

Defensive driving lessons are good not only for establishing a better judgment on the road but also help you in understanding how and why crashes occurr. In addition to the crash-avoidance information, and the state-specific traffic law refresher that comes at the end of most defensive driving classes, there are benefits beyond simply possessing new knowledge and skills that come with taking such a class.
While the specifics vary from state to state, along with the previously mentioned ability to erase a ticket from your record without your insurance rates increasing, if you take a defensive driving class without needing to clear points from your license, you could be earning a three-year long insurance rate reduction of up to 10%, and to continue the reduced rate, you can repeat the course with no problem.
Defensive driving classes come in both classroom and online formats, and last anywhere from four to eight hours. There is generally either a quiz or proof of attendance required.

Besides the defensive driving classes will help you to understand the seriousness of what implications an acccident can have and this in itself will change your own perspective and attitude since self-realization is one of the best ways of achieving success. Take up the course and let me know whether your driving habits do change and you will certainly enjoy cheaper SR22 auto insursnace quotes.

Thanks.

Brad Fallon : I had a DUI conviction and am planning to take the defensive driving class can you tell me something about what excatly the defensive driving classes are? Will it help with SR22 car insurance.

Response : SR22 car insurance is normally given for three years, however your driving lessons will help in reducing the auto insurance premium. Please do not worry about this. Every defensive driving class for DUI insurance is slightly different, but all the curricula are regulated by the state in which you take it, and teach rules and policies that are specific to where you live. Aside from the state-specific information that is usually included, there are several topics that are typically covered :
1. Awareness of reaction distance, and your own vehicle’s stopping distance
2. Awareness of environmental hazards
3. Paying attention to the road, and adapting to changing conditions
4. Learning the two-second rule for following distances
5. Right-of-way, and road sharing
6. Passing and clearance distances
7. How to handle railroad crossings
8. Safe speed adjustments
9. General information on crashes
10. Psychological factors of crashes
11. DUIs and other Driver Errors

The main aim of the course of defensive driving is directly related to crash prevention. This is because traffic accidents are almost always preventable, if you are aware of the hazards and signs. The general information will include an explanation of how a crash happens – how speed, impact point, and the size of the impacted object all determine the severity of a given crash, and how the initial vehicle on vehicle impact is only the primary collision.
Classes then demonstrate the concept of “second collisions,” which is when the driver and passengers collide with the windshield or other parts of their own car. This portion of crash analysis also includes a lot of information about seat belts, and why wearing them can save your life.
By teaching you how to analyze a crash scenario, defensive driving courses help you learn to avoid crashing.
They will also be informing you how drunk driving causes and increases the changes of the accidents, the mpact of the crash and how to prevent drunk driving.

Once you have had all the training, I am sure you will certainly appreciate this and let me know the advantages of this great training.
