Frank Kern : Who is Considered a High Risk? Do all high risk drivers need SR22 insurance?

High risk drivers and SR22 insurance
Response : There are all different types of high risk drivers. Some are categorized as high risk because of bad choices and others can’t help it.

Those that are naturally high risk drivers are because of their age. They include those who are under 25 years old and those over 65 years old. The younger age group drive recklessly and have been recorded as being in a lot of fatal car crashes. With that being known, they are charged more for auto insurance premiums. The senior citizens in America have to prove themselves to the DMV to show that they are still capable of hearing, seeing and comprehending the laws of the road. . Young drivers under 25 will begin to see their rates decrease once they hit 25 years old.

The other high risk drivers are those who have made bad decisions and have become high risk drivers too have to face high rates for automobile coverage. Individuals who have received DUIs are considered high risk drivers. Statistics show that people who driver under the influence of alcohol and drugs do it more than once, so this is the reason why they are categorized this way. Then those who are involved in multiple car accidents and those who have a lot of citations are all considered to be risks. Insurers don’t like to insure this category of people because it could cost them a lot of money, which is why they charge them a whole lot more money to get a policy.

It is not necessary that all high risk drivers require SR22 car insurance. Most of the time SR22 insurance is required for DUI or drunk driving. They would need to have SR22 car insurance, if they have been caught in an accident or on the road by the police, driving under infuence, or are responsible for an accident and have not taken an appropriate insurance. SR22 is actually a form which is given be the general insurance company stating that the person is insured and has adequate coverage which are required as per the limits of the liability required by the state they live in.

Thanks.

Jeff Dedrick: What bad driving penalties lead to high auto insurance rates? How can I get low SR22 insurance?

Drunk driving and SR22 insurance is only one penalty:

Response :Bad driving is something for which you pay a high penalty of high auto insurance rates. frustration, legal issues and SR22 insurance. It can lead to total disaster even death! Brandon Silveria was almost one of them. When he was 17, he endured a three-week coma after being involved in a drunk-driving accident. Since his rehabilitation, Silveria has devoted himself to speaking at high schools about his experience and encouraging people under the legal drinking age to make the right decisions about alcohol. He had bad driving, he paid the penalty and learnt a great lesson.

Recently in Ontario a driver did a stunt driving. He drove at a speed of 145 km/h in a 90 km/h zone in a sedan. This was considered stunt driving and he is facing a stunt driving investigation. He had a blood alcohol concentration above the average level of zero. He also produced a false insurance.

With his licence suspended for 90 days and his car impounded for seven days, the court hassles, charges and impact on his record are just the start — there’s the fact that this 20-year-old driver will now face severe repercussions when it comes to obtaining future auto insurance coverage.

This is an excellent example of bad driving and the penalties would certainly affect your auto insurance making you a high risk driver and qualify you for high auto insurance or need the SR22 form or SR22 insurance.

So what’s the lesson here? Breaking the law while on the road means more than just getting fined and having your license revoked — it means immediate consequences, you are faced with constant high auto insurance premiums.
Here are illegal driving actions that come with the added repercussion of automatically affecting your auto insurance rate:
• driving without a licence
• driving without insurance
• driving while impaired (this includes drugs and alcohol)
• racing or stunt driving
• failing to remain at the scene of an accident
• failing to stop for a school bus
• driving with a suspended licence
To ensure you pay the lowest possible premium, always heed the rules of the road. Remember that even if a minor action only costs you a small fine and no immediate change in your current auto insurance rate,. You will definitely be charged much higher at the time of your renewal. A DUI charge or aggressive driving would get you SR22 insurance, change your driving profile, which insurance companies use to determine your rate.
The solution to this is to shop online or get a quote here at duisr22carinsurancequote.com for cheap sr22, affordable high risk insurance or low dui insurance. The choice is yours.

Mark Ling : Thanks for letting me know about the traffic iolations, now I would like to know more about what steps you can take if your driving license is suspended. How do I get it renewed and get cheap sr22 car insurance quotes?

Response : Mark let me tell you that though speciality insurers do take high risk and I have worked in this market, having a suspended license is one of the worst position to be in or a big disadvantage as far as car insurance is concerned. You will definetly need a SR 22 car insurance. Here are some of the steps which you will have to take :

1) Get SR22 car insurance quotes. Oftentimes, if you want to get your license reinstated, you will need to show proof of your auto insurance, SR22 insurance , most likely. (Remember: it’s illegal to drive uninsured). Shop online for car insurance quotes and to find an affordable policy. See what car insurance agents are willing to work with you and offer you a policy within your budget and with sufficient coverage.
2) Defensive driving course. Proving that you are willing to take additional training to develop better driving skills is a big step in the right direction to proving your insurability to insurance companies. A car insurance agent or provider is more likely to take a chance with you if you have successfully completed a defensive driving course.
3)Pay up. If you would like to reinstate your license after your probation/suspension period is over, remember that you are required to pay reinstatement fees. Costs vary, so contact your local DMV to find out how much it costs to reinstate a suspended license. Keep in mind, it can get very expensive (costs can vary between $70 and $500).
4)Apply for a temporary driving permit/restricted license. In some cases, a suspended-licensed driver may be able to apply for a temporary driving permit or a temporary restricted license (some states offer this; check with your local DMV to see if yours does). This permit/license allows you to continue driving, but only for certain reasons—e.g. commuting to and from work, needed medical appointments, etc. To get a temporary permit/license, the suspended-licensed driver will have to pay their state’s reinstatement fee, fulfill responsibility criteria and successfully complete a written test. To keep this privilege, the driver is not allowed to make even one more moving violation.
5)Ways of getting your licence back: There is a database known as the National Driver Register (NDR). This allows authorities and licensing agencies to keep track of those drivers with licenses that are either revoked or suspended. This prevents suspended-licensed drivers from seeking another driver’s license in another state.
6) Shop around for a cheap SR22 insurance quote and be very patient since this is going to be a challenge as already pointed out to you. When looking for car insurance quotes, don’t get discouraged if you’re not hearing a number that you like. You can still get a cheap sr22 car insurance quote by comparing auto insurance online.
Thanks.

Arymen Shawn : The traffic authorities, goverment and insurance companies are bringing in a cell phone ban. Is this necessary and will it help in reducing the auto insurance premiums. In which states is it prevelant?

Response : Arymen, I know that most of the time this would sound very weird to people but it would certainly impact the automobile insurance rates and the SR22 car insurance premiums in the long runs since this would reduce auto insurance premiums.Distraction is one of the leading cause of aggressive driving and this leads to accidents and SR22 car insurance or the driver being named as high risk driver. More than 270 million wireless subscribers in the United States used 2.2 trillion minutes in 2008. Teens and novice drivers learn the complex task of driving a motor vehicle, they are the most likely group to be involved in vehicle crashes as the result of distracted drving.

On Your Side survey, which found that eight in 10 Americans surveyed said they would support legislation restricting cell phone use while driving. The survey, conducted Aug. 5-9, 2009, by Harris Interactive, reports that 80% of Americans favor a ban on texting while driving, while two thirds favor a ban on cell phone calls, and more than half say they would support a ban on cell phone use altogether.

With an astounding 110.4 billion text messages sent and received each month last year, it’s obvious that texting is easy, fast and increasingly popular. It’s also incompatible with safe driving, a fact that has not escaped the interest of the National Safety Council and CTIA-The Wireless Association, which recently announced a joint teen education campaign designed to explain the dangers of distracted driving. The campaign—and its slogan, “On the Road, Off the Phone”—includes a television public service announcement and Web site with information for parents and teens to learn more about distracted driving

A jurisdiction-wide ban on driving while talking on a hand-held cellphone is in place in 7 states (California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Utah, and Washington) and the District of Columbia. Utah has named the offense careless driving. Under the Utah law, no one commits an offense when speaking on a cellphone unless they are also committing some other moving violation other than speeding.

Local jurisdictions may or may not need specific state statutory authority to ban cellphones. Localities that have enacted restrictions on cellphone use include: Oahu, HI; Chicago, IL; Brookline, MA; Detroit, MI; Santa Fe, NM; Brooklyn, North Olmstead, and Walton Hills, OH; Conshohocken, Lebanon, and West Conshohocken, PA; Waupaca County, WI; and Cheyenne, WY.

Localities are prohibited from banning cellphone use in 8 states (Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Utah).
The use of all cellphones while driving a school bus is prohibited in 17 states and the District of Columbia.
The use of all cellphones by novice drivers is restricted in 21 states and the District of Columbia.
Text messaging is banned for all drivers in 19 states and the District of Columbia. In addition, novice drivers are banned from texting in 9 states (Delaware, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, and West Virginia) and school bus drivers are banned from text messaging in 1 state (Texas).
I am sure you will find this information and intersting and also appreciate that this is a leading cause of high auto insurance premium. Lets ensure safety and get low auto insurance or car insurance and enjoy our rides.
