DUI Car insurance

Gary: How do the insurance classify divers requiring high risk car insurance?

Response: The insurance companies decide the rating for any product based on the classification of the risk.  In auto insurance some of the risk is more prone to accidents than other risks. The high risks for car insurance are:

  • Persons with DWI or DUI on their record are the first to be considered as high risk. This is high liability risk.
  • If an individual has gap in the car insurance coverage.
  • Speeding tickets and a bad driving record would be considered a negative point for auto insurance and shoot up your car insurance quote.
  • Persons having a bad credit history are also considered as a high risk. The statistical data has proved that persons with a bad credit history are likely to place a claim more than one with a good credit history.
  • Individuals who have had a number of claims in a given year. This is an indication that the person is not a good driver or careless, thus the frequency of claims is going to be higher for this person.
  • Teenagers buying auto insurance are considered a greater risk than adults, so young drivers will almost always pay more for car insurance.
  • First time drivers also pay more for the auto coverage, regardless of their age, making cheap auto insurance a dream.
  • Men are considered more prone to accidents than woman and so are considered a higher risk.
  • Persons driving in the urban areas are more likely to have accidents than in rural areas. This is because of the traffic congestion.

Being classified as a high risk is not a problem. Compare auto insurance quote and follow the tips for reducing premium.
