SR22 non owners Insurance
Response : In Texas, the Department of Public Safety requires auto insurance company to certify that an individual has the financial ability to pay for any future insurance claims up to the limit of what the state of Texas require. This is why you need to have an SR-22 insurance. It provides proof that you are financially responsible and it is done in the form of a certification called an SR22 insurance.
So since you do not own a vehicle in Austin, Texas, then you will need to purchase non-owners SR-22 insurance. This will provide coverage for your auto insurance liability protection.
Even though you don’t not have a car you may still be mandated to carry an SR22 auto insurance. You can purchase non owners SR-22 insurance policy in Texas. The car is not covered by an SR22 non-owners policy.
Most of us are confused as to what a non-owners liability policy cover. This only covers liability up to the limits bought. It does not cover the car that you are operating, but only the liability that the driver may cause in case of an accident. This will basically pay for any damage you cause to another person.
If you have been involved in a serious accident, have a number of tickets or are invovled in DUI/DWI than you are required to have DUI SR22 car insurance even though you do not have a car.
