DUI Car insurance

Ryan: How do you get insurance when one spouse has DUI’s and a suspended license and the other has a clean driving record?

Response: You can exclude the spouse with the bad driving record from the policy. Many carriers will do this for you. Or, if your state doesn’t allow excluded drivers on policies for spouses or resident relatives, you’ll probably have to pay the hefty premiums to cover both the people.

Be careful of the excluded driver option, however. With an excluded driver endorsement, there is NEVER any coverage for the excluded driver — EVER. . Interestingly, people tend to forget all about being an excluded driver under those circumstances. The spouse should not drive.

However, this is an option that is not right – since you are limiting the other driver. Follow instructions for getting the license again . Exclude him on the spouse policy, but take separate DUI policy for the partner once you get the license. There are insurance companies which offer good coverage’s and affordable rates. Let the DUI partner have an ignition lock so that there is no driving whilst he/she is drunk. You will need SR22 for DUI driver and you can get good SR22 car insurance online also.
